I had a great time at the resort, especially enjoying the beautiful Santiago Beach and the lively atmosphere by the pools. The rooms had their flaws, particularly the bathroom plumbing, but the location and activities available more than made up for it. There was a bit of a concern with room conditions for some guests and the overall dining experience could be improved. Overall, it was still a memorable vacation for me and my friends with a five-star service that kept things fun!

Rooms
6.0
The room was freshly painted but had issues like the bathroom needing new plumbing. My brother had to switch rooms due to similar issues, but it was handled promptly by the staff.

The service was outstanding throughout our stay, with friendly staff who accommodated our requests and provided great service at the pools and restaurants.
Location
10.0
The location was simply perfect for my beach-loving soul, with amazing morning and evening walks along Santiago Beach, plus snorkeling just a short distance away.
Dining

Dining options varied, with a decent buffet of Mexican cuisine and enjoyable dinners at the Italian restaurant. However, I would have loved more variety in the buffet.
Facilities

The pools were clean and enjoyable, though I did notice some issues with sharp edges on the tiles, so be careful while swimming.

I had a wonderful time at this resort, enjoying the beautiful Santiago Beach and all the fun activities available. The service was top-notch, and I absolutely loved the pools and the delicious food at the buffet. However, I noticed some areas for improvement, particularly in the room maintenance and certain features within the resort that could use a refresh.

The location of the resort on Santiago Beach was perfect for morning walks and body surfing, with great snorkeling just north at the Aquarium.
Dining

I really enjoyed the buffet with great Mexican food, especially the Pozole soup, and the homemade pasta at the Italian restaurant was a highlight.
Facilities

I had mixed feelings about my time at the resort. While it has plenty of activities for kids and families, I was disappointed by the cleanliness and quality of our room. The dining options offered decent meals, but the food wasn't extraordinary. The location separated the beach from the resort, which was a hassle, and the accommodations were not very convenient for those with mobility issues.

Rooms
5.0
The room layout was frustrating, and we faced issues with dirty conditions and uncomfortable beds. Overall, it felt run-down.
Service
5.0
The service at the restaurant was nice, but overall it didn't make up for the issues we faced. Some staff members struggled with English.
Location
6.0
The resort is quite large, but the distance to the beach was inconvenient. I felt isolated since most guests were local.
Dining
6.0
The food was average for a Mexican all-inclusive, and while I enjoyed the a la carte restaurant, the buffet options were limited.
Facilities
5.0
There were many facilities available for families, but the maintenance left a lot to be desired.

Our stay at the hotel was disappointing overall. The beach access and pools are nice, but the rooms were humid and poorly laid out, lacking basic comforts like blankets. Service was friendly, but communication was often difficult as staff primarily spoke Spanish. While the dining options were decent, the overall experience left much to be desired, especially after what we encountered.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were humid with a terrible layout and only had thin sheets. The TV in the living room was very small, and there were maintenance issues throughout.
Service
7.0
Service was friendly but primarily in Spanish, which made communication challenging at times.
Location
6.0
The hotel is quite large with beautiful pools, but we felt out of place as most guests were locals. It didn't have the vibe we expected as Canadians.
Dining
6.0
The dining had some good options, especially the Mexican dishes, but it fell short of being impressive.
Facilities
6.0
The pool area is nice, but the amenities could be better maintained to ensure a more enjoyable experience.

My stay was quite a mixed bag. The hotel's location is spacious and features some beautiful pool areas, but the rooms do need significant updates and maintenance. I appreciate the friendly staff, but service could be improved, especially at the front desk. Dining was average with room for improvement, and while I found the facilities good for families, the overall condition of the hotel was disappointing.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was outdated and poorly maintained. The air conditioning didn't work, and there was a noticeable mustiness in the air. The bed was only equipped with thin sheets that didn't fit properly, which made my stay uncomfortable.
Service
6.0
The staff were generally friendly, especially around the pool activities and restaurants. However, communication was difficult as most only spoke Spanish, which made some interactions frustrating.
Location
7.0
The hotel is quite large, and while it offers decent access to the beach via a safe overpass, it's more suited for local families than international travelers. It was surprising to see so few visitors from other countries during my stay.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were passable, but I found the food offerings to be lacking in taste and variety. There could definitely be improvements to make me want to dine here more often.
Facilities
7.0
The pool areas were nice and clean, which was a plus. They do have a good layout for families, with an adults-only pool that was a peaceful escape. However, the overall maintenance needs to be addressed.

This hotel has some real issues that made my stay quite uncomfortable. The distance to the beach is frustrating, with a busy road in between and a bridge that’s in disrepair. The rooms left much to be desired, and even though the pool area was decent, it feels outdated and in need of serious upgrades. On the plus side, the villas were spacious and a more comfortable option if you can manage the price. Overall, I’d be cautious about recommending this place.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms are outdated and poorly maintained. We were assigned a room too far from the main areas, and the amenities were lacking.
Service

Service was hit or miss; it took multiple requests just to get basic amenities like an iron, and staff were not very responsive.
Location
5.0
The location is quite far from the beach, requiring a trek across a busy road, which made it inconvenient.
Dining

The restaurants offered average food, but the buffet was decent with good service. However, specialty dining was hard to access due to no reservations available.
Facilities

Facilities seem very outdated with missing tiles in the pool area and crumbling edges. The pool could be nice if it were better maintained.

My stay at this resort was disappointing, marked by serious issues in both service and cleanliness. While the resort is large with decent dining options, it suffers from maintenance problems that just can't be overlooked. The ambiance tries to appeal to families but the lack of upkeep and customer support left much to be desired.

The front desk service was lacking, and there was a serious delay in addressing our issues. Maintenance seemed unprepared to handle any real problems.
Location

My experience at Gran Festivall was incredibly disappointing. The hotel was rundown and dirty, with a serious lack of basic amenities like running water. The food was unsanitary, and we felt unsafe due to the presence of raccoons and rats. Fortunately, we were moved to Tesoro, which was a fantastic improvement in every way. Overall, I would strongly advise against staying at Gran Festivall.

My experience at Gran Festivall was extremely disappointing. The lack of running water for 24 hours and overall cleanliness of the property made my stay unbearable. However, I was fortunate enough to be moved to Tesoro, which was a much nicer resort with excellent facilities. Overall, avoid Gran Festivall if you can.
